This Sunday I went with my mom, sister, my friend Kendall, and her mom to worship on the waterfront! It's a Worship service performed outdoors on the shore of Lake Michigan in Grand Haven by a christian band or artist. The worship service is free to the public. They take up an offering for those who feel led to give but you don't have to, just come and praise Jesus! The band playing was 7eventh Time Down, a popular band that I hear all the time on the radio. Some of their songs include God is on the Move, Just say Jesus, and Only King Forever. Beginning in June of every summer and ending in August, there is a new group or artist playing every Sunday night starting at 7pm.
It was so amazing to see all of the people who gathered to worship Jesus. A lot of boats go past where the worship is happening and its cool to think about the people driving past and hearing all of the voices being lifted to God. This event can impact not only the people that attend but the people who hear it from downtown and the people coming in on their boats from a day on the lake. At one point in the service the band played the song Holy Spirit you are Welcome Here and in the middle of the song they stopped playing the instruments and there was a moment when it was just the crowd singing together. Worship on the Waterfront is an amazing event and I hope everyone can experience it!!!
